Lipan Junior Rodeo

Saturday night was the Lipan Junior Rodeo at the Cross S Arena in Lipan. It was hot and dusty, but a lot of fun. These kids are just absolutely amazing, and it was so awesome to see how much they have grown and improved, plus there were lots of new faces. These are some of my favorite shots of the day.

I love the light in this picture, the dust in the air made for a really neat haze.

Does she not have the most amazing eyes? She is soo cute!
I had a hard time getting lots of pictures of this young lady, she was too fast! The boys in the oldest age group are going to have to watch out for her this year, she was fast in everything she did!
I'm not sure how old Cutter is, but he actually requested to compete with the older age group, so that he could compete in the goat tying competition, which is only for the 11-14 age group. He was pretty quick, and will be giving his older competitors a run for their money this year. Once again I want to give a big thanks to Billy Jo & Duff Sinclair and Brad & Callie Vance, they work really hard to put all of this together for the kids and do a great job. Cross S Arena also deserves a big thank you for letting the LJR use the Arena. More Rodeo pictures in July!

Way behind on Blogging....

I have neglected my blog for about the past month! I am so sorry! Without going into too much detail lets just say it has been a really bad month with so many things out of my control that I found my self screaming! But it is a new year and a new begining for Kimberly Brian Photography. Things to look for over the coming months....Weddings (finally), Boudoir Photography is now available, Stock Photos and designs for the digital scrapbooker, and I will even be launching Kimberly Brian Designs soon (more on that later). I have a lot of catching up to do so look for lots of blog posts over the next week or two. I am also leaving on Thursday for a trip to South Carolina to visit family, so look for lots and lots and lots of photos when I get back!!

Here is my favorite photo that I have taken lately. I don't think you can truly appreciate how awesome this picture is unless you saw how dark that hay room actually was when it was taken. This is a promotional picture that will be used for some clinics Ron has going on in Canada with Curt Pate!

Lipan Jr. Rodeo Awards

The Lipan Jr. Rodeo has ended for this year and tonight the award's dinner was held. I just love this group! It's all about the kids and is just so neat. These kids work really hard and you can see their improvement every month. I can't wait till next year to see how much more all of them have improved. I want to thank the parents and the kids for being so great to work with over the past few months. I am truly blessed to be able to do what I do. Here are few shots from this evening. I know that I just said it is all about the kids, but I grabbed this shot of T. this evening and I just LOVE IT! I couldn't resist sharing it. Both of T's sons won their age groups for the year! Obviously it just runs in the family.

October Lipan Junior Rodeo

Here are some of my favorites from this past Saturday! This is the last Rodeo of the year, which makes me sad, but I can't wait to see all of these kids again next year! They are just truly great kids with awesome families. Thank you all so much for allowing me to be a part of such a great event! See you at the awards dinner!

Before & After

I have not posted a "before and after" before, so it is about time. Editing is a huge part of a photographer's job. It is one of the many reasons you use a professional, it can take a so-so picture and make it a WOW!

Last weekend I shot the Lipan Jr. Rodeo and during the editing process one picture just haunted me. I just couldn't get it to work. Well yesterday I got a new editing software and amazing enough I got the image to work today! I just knew that somewhere inside that BAD picture was a GREAT picture. The first image is the "before" - image taken straight out of camera with absolutely no editing.
The next two are edited, one with normal color saturation and the second with low color saturation.

Sneak Peak: Lipan Jr. Rodeo

I am still in the middle of editing all of the pictures I took last night, but for those of you who just can't wait, here is a sneak peak. I hope to have a full post up soon, and the client gallery ready to go tomorrow, but with the holiday and it being opening weekend of Dove Season, it may be Wednesday before they all get up.
As always, I had a great time last night. Thanks go out to my husband for coming and with me and being my 'assistant'. To the parents who help put this on, and you know who you are...Great Job on another awesome rodeo!!!

The Broken Spoke & George Strait

So while looking for a few photos this morning I came across a folder full of pictures that need to be posted. I actually can't believe I have neglected to post these. A while back while in Austin, mi madre and I stopped by the ole' Broken Spoke for lunch. If you are not familiar with the Broken Spoke, click on the link and find out more, you don't know what you have been missing! On the wall in the Broken Spoke is an old album cover of George Strait ....I can understand the temptation, but seriously why ruin a good picture of George???? In honor of George Strait, I will be playing several of my favorites right here on the blog through Imeem.com. If you haven't checked Imeem out yet, click on over and check it out! It is AWESOME!!! So here's to George and the Broken Spoke. My first selection is by far one of my all time favorites, Unwound!
